The Model S Plaid has, to this day, remained the quickest production car to 60mph to undergo a full Autocar road test, a feat it achieved despite facing formidable competition from cutting-edge electric hypercars like the Lotus Evija (2.8 seconds) and hybrid marvels such as the Lamborghini Revuelto (2.5 seconds). This extreme performance capability, coupled with its substantial electric range, truly positioned the Model S Plaid as a technological tour de force, blurring the lines between electric vehicles and the most extreme internal combustion engine performance machines.
