Subaru is adding yet another electric SUV to its blossoming lineup, with the latest addition set to be revealed next week at the New York auto show.
The automaker today announced the new model’s debut with a teaser image that shows a shrouded vehicle driving on an oceanside road.
While specific details are scarce, Subaru did reveal that its newest EV will have all-wheel drive and 420 horsepower.
In what seems like no time, Subaru will have gone from having zero electric vehicles in its lineup to several. The newest member of the growing family will be revealed next week at the New York auto show, and today we have our first teaser image of the forthcoming EV SUV.
The image shows a mysterious vehicle driving along an oceanside road during a sunrise or sunset. While we can’t make out many details, there are a handful of visual elements that are obvious from the photo. Subaru’s new electric model will feature the same six-pod daytime running lights that appear on all of its other EVs—the Uncharted, the Solterra, and the Trailseeker. The latest addition will also have an illuminated front logo and roof rails.

To whet our appetite for the big reveal, Subaru also shared some details about the new EV’s powertrain. It’ll feature standard all-wheel drive, which confirms that it’ll have at least two electric motors. That setup will combine for 420 horsepower, making it the most powerful Subaru you can purchase from the factory. The other interesting tidbit is that the company’s brief press release mentions the word \”family\” twice, which makes us think it will have room for more than five people, possibly making it Subaru’s first three-row EV.\n\nThese questions—along with the new model’s official name—will be answered during the global reveal at 10 a.m. ET next Wednesday, April 1, at the 2026 New York International Auto Show.
